In 2016, the estranged half-brother of former President Barack Obama — Malik Obama — endorsed then-candidate Donald Trump during the election, helping promote him through his Twitter account.
After a lengthy absence, Malik Obama back — and he’s praising the president’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.

President Donald Trump has led the charge in the fight against the novel coronavirus, shutting down travel to many international countries, authorizing the Defense Production Act, and pushing for the approval of potential COVID-19 treatment hydroxychloriquine.

Malik, who refers to himself as the “#BestObama,” appears to believe that Trump will pull the nation through both the health and economic crisis and beat former Vice President Joe Biden in November.

“Democrats may have dodged the Bernie Sanders socialist bullet and United behind Biden but they still will get beat by [President Trump],” he tweeted.

Currently there are several states that have issued “Stay-at-Home” orders, with more states expected to join in as testing ramps up and more cases are confirmed.

Additionally, on Sunday afternoon, Senate Democrats rejected a stimulus proposal by the GOP, causing Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to lash out at his liberal colleagues.
“The American people are watching this spectacle. I’m told the futures market is down 5 percent. I’m also told that’s when trading stops. So the notion that we have time to play games here with the American economy and the American people is utterly absurd,” McConnell said in a speech on the Senate floor.
“The American people expect us to act tomorrow, and I want everybody to fully understand if we aren’t able to act tomorrow, it will be because of our colleagues on the other side continuing to dither when the country expects us to come together and address this problem.” he added.
